Bill Taylor, Colony Builders, Inc.

Bill Taylor has been building custom homes in Alaska since the late 70’s when he made his first cabin on Kodiak Island. Bill has worked in various other industries in Alaska, including commercial fishing and financial investments as a stockbroker. In 1980, his love of building and a desire to see quality construction led him to create Colony Builders.

Bill served as an officer for the Anchorage Home Builders Association Board of Directors from 1993-2011 and as President in 1996. Additionally, he served as a Building Counsel co-chair for ten years.

Bill brings his passion for exacting standards and integrity to every custom home his team creates. Bill started Colony Builders on the foundation of quality, service, and value. Bill manages an average of 20 sub-contractors and specialists at any given time. Bill says he enjoys project management and the diversity it brings to his workday.

Under Bill Taylor’s keen eye for detail, Colony Builders has stayed strong and continued to grow through two downturns in the local economy. You can be sure that a custom home project begun with Colony Builders will finish strong.

Bill’s commitment to excellence and quality is evident in the numerous awards Colony Builders has won over the years. From 1985 to 2012, Colony Builders received 20 prestigious Golden Hammer Awards. Bill was also awarded the 1995 & 2002 Builder of the Year award for contributing to the community in promoting safe and affordable housing in Anchorage.
